I seen a pull type grader blade in Successfull Farming made by a company called Hoelsher. The blade was available in 6 or 8 foot widths, it was hydraulic angle and tilt. It looked very well made and looked like it would do a great job on a gravel driveway. I can't find anything on the internet about it just wondering if anybody else seen it or had an opinion about it? It was kind of pricey $3000.00-$3500.00, but seemed like a very nice piece of equipment.

Most of those are built for a cat 2 or 3 hitch. You would need to convert to cat 1 and either get the 3&4 scv (remotes) or get long hoses to run to your bucket controls.
The other option is 1 remote with diverter valving. Others know more about them. ....

CraigC, I've had a Land Pride hydraulic angle and tilt blade for years, but I'm not sure if they make one that will fit a Cat. 1 3pt. It does do a great job and seems to be well built. It seems like I paid around 2,500.00 for it new, but that's been several years ago. It requires two two way outlets on the tractor to operate the angling cylinders. Hope this helps, Frank. ....

A lot of grading requires cutting dirt from high spots and moving it to low spots. It'd be good if such a blade had an end-plate option so it would carry material for dumping and spreading like a box scraper.
I don't have a lot of grading and no ditching to do so I get by with a box scraper. It's a lot cheaper but it still needs a rear hydraulic outlet for a top-link to make it really useful. Sometimes I do wish I could angle a blade to cut and push material off one end but not often enough for me to pay the price for a really good blade with hydraulics and end-plates ....

For gravel or aggregate drives I would recommend a rake over a blade. I have both, the rake wins every time. But as with many implements, there are usually more than one use associated with each. ....

Craig,
The Hoelscher unit is a pull type blade but the hitch hooks to a Cat I three point hitch. You can raise and lower the front of the unit with your 3 pt hitch. The blade has hydraulic tilt to clean out ditches, etc. It can also be manually angled for pulling gravel back into the center of your drive. This unit works better than a 3 pt mounted blade. The blade is mounted in the middle of a massive frame that is almost 10 foot long. The back of this frame is sitting on two 26" tires. As the tractor goes up and down (from going in holes and driving over piles of dirt or gravel) the blade doesn't follow the same up and down path, but leaves a nice smooth surface. It makes a great tool to grade a driveway. However it is costly. For more information you can call Darrel Hoelscher at 620-562-3575. ....

Thanks for the info, I thought it was pull type (pulled from the drawbar) but either way looks like it would work a lot better than a regular three point grader blade. I have an Allis Chalmers D17 with a 8 foot grader blade that my Dad and I made a snap coupler tounge for works o.k. You know how ever time the tractor goes in a hole or over a hump the grader blade does the opposite, kind of a pain in the ass. ....

Craig, I think the implement you're looking for is called a drag scraper. Do a google search on drag scraper and you'll find a few. Here's a link to one I found that is made for compact tractors. This one isn't as long as I think it should be but there are probably others out there. ....
